“We welcome today’s publication of the Review of Vocational Qualifications in Wales.
“As the economy continues to evolve, our universities will have a vital role to play in delivering skills for the future in areas such as AI, STEM, health, education and business services.
“In light of this, we particularly welcome the review’s recognition of the need for vertical alignment and clarity of progression routes. By providing a clear and seamless pathway throughout the qualification journey – from Level 2/3 through to Level 6 – we can furnish the nation with the high level of skills required to support the future economy.
“We were pleased to have the opportunity to sit on the steering group for this vocational qualifications review. As this work progresses, we will continue to work with partners and stakeholders to ensure Wales’ higher education sector is well placed to meet the future needs of the Welsh economy.
“The establishment of the Commission on Tertiary Education brings further opportunities to enhance our extensive links with further education and sixth forms and work collaboratively to provide learners across Wales with vital skills for the future.”
