'Universities Wales staff and members were saddened to hear of the death of Aled Roberts. During his time as an Assembly Member and Education Spokesperson for the Welsh Liberal Democrats, Aled exemplified what a politician could and should be: willing to listen and engage with people no matter their views or background. His ability to draw people together and build consensus similarly served him well in his role as Welsh Language Commissioner.
