“Today’s announcement of a deal between the UK and the EU is good news for Wales.

“Universities in Wales continue to have extremely strong relationships with our European partners. It is therefore vitally important that the UK Government and the EU continue to work collaboratively together.

“Wales has continued to show its strong commitment to Europe, as evidenced by our international Taith programme that supports mobilities across the world, including in Europe.  Learners and staff involved in Taith will testify to the excellent experience and benefits that such mobility opportunities can bring. 

“Measures that enable greater academic and student exchange with our European partners will be warmly welcomed by universities, both here in Wales and in the EU.

“We look forward to working with all parties on the next phase of negotiations.”
