About
Universities Wales is a membership body representing the interests of Wales’ nine universities.
We develop higher education policy, deliver political and stakeholder engagement, and campaign on issues where our members have a shared interest.
Our work encompasses that of Global Wales and the Wales Innovation Network - both of which are part of Universities Wales.
Our mission
Our mission is to support a university education system which transforms lives through the work Welsh universities do with the people and places of Wales and the wider world.
Universities Wales works autonomously as part of Universities UK.
Our universities
Wales is home to a vibrant and diverse world-class university sector, which has the potential to transform lives.
We work to promote and support Wales’ universities, both here in Wales and internationally.
Our members
Our membership is made up of the vice-chancellors of all the universities in Wales, including the Open University in Wales.
Universities Wales members meet regularly to discuss issues relating to higher education in Wales, and to decide upon collective positions and actions.
Our Chair is Professor Paul Boyle, Vice-Chancellor of Swansea University. Our Vice-Chair is Professor Maria Hinfelaar, Vice-Chancellor of Wrexham University.
