
Medr appoints James Owen as Chief Executive
Medr has appointed James Owen as the organisation’s first permanent Chief Executive. Responding to the announcement, Professor Paul Boyle, Chair of Universities Wales said:

“We welcome the announcement that James Owen has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Medr, the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, James has been instrumental in the establishment of the new Commission, and we have greatly valued his collaborative approach, strategic leadership, and commitment to the development of a joined-up tertiary education sector in Wales.
“We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Simon Pirotte for his leadership as Interim CEO. Simon has played a vital role in guiding Medr through its formative phase, and his commitment to the sector has been greatly appreciated.
“As James takes up his new role as CEO, we look forward to continuing working with him and the rest of the Medr team to support a thriving tertiary sector that delivers for learners, institutions and the nation.”
