Horizun
Horizun, founded by Cardiff University graduate AbdulAlim U-K, is an immersive platform that leverages augmented reality technology and AI powered avatars to provide tailored career assessments and job simulations to college and undergraduate students.
The unique experience fills the gap in traditional career guidance, providing engaging, practical, real-world scenarios for more informed career choices.
AbdulAlim is a recent graduate of Cardiff University School of Computer Science and Informatics where he was studying for an MSc in Computing. In 2024 he won first place in the Cardiff University 'Inspiring Idea Award'.
The project has already garnered a lot of interest having won three competitions, with the latest being the Inspiring Idea and Audience favourite at the Spring Start-Up & Freelance Awards.
“The student enterprise team at Cardiff University have been instrumental in my project’s development - from organising bootcamps that have given me multiple opportunities to practice pitching, to business mentor meetings and signposting events.”
