In response to the appointment of Jeremy Miles MS as Minister for Education, Professor Julie Lydon, Chair of Universities Wales, said: 

"On behalf of Universities Wales, I would like to warmly welcome the appointment of Jeremy Miles MS as Minister for Education.

"We look forward to working with the Minister to build on the achievements delivered with the Welsh Government in the previous term including the introduction of the International Learning Exchange, the publication of the ground-breaking Civic Mission framework which will help build and sustain the work universities do with communities across Wales, and the accreditation of all our universities as Living Wage employers.

"Welsh universities stand ready to work with the new Welsh Government to tackle the key challenges that Wales faces and to deliver a period of social and economic recovery from the effects of the pandemic."
