Welsh Government Final Budget 2025-26 agreed before the Senedd
On Tuesday 4 March, the Welsh Government’s Final Budget 2025-26 was agreed before the Senedd. In response to the budget, a Universities Wales spokesperson said:

“While the recent Welsh Government announcement of additional in-year funding will provide much needed short-term support for universities, the Welsh Government Budget for 2025-2026 does not provide the level of funding that is required into the next academic year.
“Without further support, it is likely that the sector will need to make further difficult decisions next year.”
