In July 2022, Global Wales hosted delegates from T-Hub, the world's largest start-up incubator, on a visit to Wales. The objective behind this visit was to facilitate engagement opportunities between the education sectors in Wales and Indian industry, with a specific emphasis on forging partnerships that enhance skill development for the start-up industry.

As part of the delegation's itinerary, T-Hub were introduced to the Welsh further education sector, engaging with Cardiff and Vale College and Gower College Swansea. This culminated in a joint-proposal for a Taith Pathway 2 application, uniting Gower College Swansea, T-Hub, and Cardiff and Vale College. This proposal aimed to develop a series of impactful electric vehicle (EV) courses. This initiative acted as a commitment of both sides in fostering tangible, industry-aligned skill development.

The impact of T-Hub's visit went far beyond the immediate collaborations. It led to an an extended market development visit in autumn 2022 by the Market Development Manager – including utility of T-Hub's desk space. Leveraging the T-Hub network, this visit provided insights and opportunities, for further potential partnerships. This culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Universities Wales, ColegauCymru and T-Hub. This MOU, committed all groups to a shared vision of promoting innovation and collaboration, and laid the foundation for more sustained, far-reaching collaborations.

This case study shows how Global Wales functions as a bridge, linking disparate yet complementary elements of education and industry. Through organising meaningful engagements and facilitating international partnerships, Global Wales creates opportunities to connect academia and industry, skill-development, and mutual growth.
